Riding Glove Size Guide

The right size is what turns a good glove into a great one. Too big and the glove bunches, twists and dulls your rein feel; too small and it restricts your fingers. Here's how to find your perfect fit in about 30 seconds.

How to measure your hand

1. Take a soft tape measure (or a piece of string and a ruler).
2. Wrap it around the widest part of your hand — across the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
3. Make a relaxed fist and note the measurement in centimetres.
4. Match that number to the chart below. If you're between two sizes, size up.

Size up. A slightly roomier glove will break in and mould to your hand, while a too-tight glove restricts movement and wears out faster at the seams.

How the fit should feel

A well-fitted riding glove sits like a second skin: snug across the palm, with no loose fabric bunching at the fingertips and no pulling across the back of the hand. You should be able to make a full fist and wiggle your fingers freely, and still feel the reins clearly through the palm.
